Charles "Chick" Tower, 62, of Lansing, Michigan passed away, surrounded by his family on June 11,
2017, at Sparrow Hospital Hospice from metastatic adenocarcinoma.

Chick was born on June 18, 1954 to Charles Edward Tower and Jane Ann (Shuttleworth) Tower, both of
whom preceded him in death. He was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan. Chick graduated from
Sexton High School as valedictorian. He received an appointment to and attended The United States
Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. After his graduation he entered into the Marine Corps as an
artillary officer. Subequently, he worked as a Marine Corps recruiter before resigning with the
rank of Captain. He then worked at RGA Insurance company in St. Louis, Missouri. After his
retirement he moved into his family home in Lansing. He enjoyed backpacking trips with family and
friends, long walks with his dog, Bandit, reading - especially science fiction books and was an
active member of the Greater Lansing Linux Users Group. Chick will always be rememberd for his
wonderful sense of humor (a family trait), his huge belly laugh (again, a family trait), his
sharing of interesting Internet articles and his loyal friendship. Chick maintained relationships
with childhood friends, college friends and friends from across the country. Neither time nor
distance prevented Chick from having relationships with family and friends.

Chick is survived by his two sisters, Janet (Tower) Robinson (Joby) and Mary Rumpf (Tower) Davis
(Tom). Although he never had children of his own, Uncle Chick will be fondly remembered by his
nieces and nephews, Katie (Rumpf) Ruble, Adam Rumpf, Allison Davis and Andrew Davis.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m.on July 28, 2017 at Mount Hope Cemetary in Lansing,
Michigan. Pastor Tyson Nofzinger of Westland Free Methodist Church, Westland, Michigan will be the
officiant. The family invites you to join them for a celebration of Chick's life immediately
following the service at Leo's Outpost, 600 S. Pennsylvania Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may
be made to The American Cancer Society or Wounded Warrior Project.
Your life was a blessing, Your memory a treasure... You are loved beyond words, And missed beyond
measure.
