Joanna Marie Lint, age 54 of Lansing, loving sister and gracious friend was abruptly taken to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 (her brother Jim's birthday). A quick trip to the store on her way to church was her point of departure from this earthly home.
Joanna was born June 3, 1962 in Lansing Michigan to John and Patricia Lint.
She possessed a rare innocence that was a delight to behold. She radiated kindness, intelligence and a great wit, a wonderful sense of humor with an infectious laugh.
Her greatest joys were to bless those that she encountered everywhere she went, exhibiting a heart of servitude and generosity to those less fortunate.
One of her loving talents was to knit and crochet hats, scarfs and blankets, for the purpose of donating to area children in need.
Vegetable gardening was a lifelong interest of hers. At harvest time, she processed and preserved pumpkin, squash, tomatoes, peas, beans to name a few. Herbs were dehydrated and kept in jars. We were the partakers of her scrumptious jams, jellies, fruit butters for many years.
As Joanna never had the joy of having her own children she was blessed and privileged to bestow her loving influence on her niece and nephew; she prayed for them consistently, and in many ways she loved them as her own.
As a young girl her first job, was preparing meals at an elderly woman's home. She had a deep respect and love for these women. Eventually her education through L.C.C. provided her an ability to work in the capacity of an LPN, with a focus on Cystic Fibrosis afflicted children. She believed her calling was to care for the elderly, where we watched her blossom and reach her full potential. Many of these patients spoke of her with great fondness.
She is proceeded in death by her infant sister, Marilyn Suzanne Lint; her father, John Paul Lint; Mother, Patricia Ann Lint, whom recently passed away in late September.
She will be greatly missed by her sister; Theresa (Robert) Cupp; brother, James Lint; nephew, James Cupp; niece, Tiffany Cupp; Uncle Max (Doris) Hineman, Aunt Mary (Lint) Brown, Aunt MaryEllen Hineman, and many cousins.
As her sister, I reflect on her life and our brief conversation just a couple of hours before; my heart is convicted to encourage everyone of this truth. You may never have another chance to express your heart with love, to those you cherish. Speak the words you wish to speak, be the encouragement you feel led to be. Give and bless them in special ways they will never forget. And you'll have a remembrance that you'll carry all the days of your life, which will be one source of comfort and peace when unexpected things happen. Every day you met our sister Joanna, was like the first day you ever met her. Her charismatic smile and loving presence was truly a blessed gift from heaven above, to all those who knew her. Joanna will be separated from us, for a brief time, and we are feeling a deep loss without her. But as we believe, it is not forever, just for.a time.
